Five Women-Owned Local Businesses to Support This Month, and Every Month
Café Juanita – Kirkland
Available for Pick-up Orders
Chef and owner, Holly Smith, opened the doors to Café Juanita in 2000 with hopes to share her passion and love for Northern Italian cuisine. Due to COVID-19, they are offering a new, at-home special with a rotating menu to choose from that is available for pick-up. A wonderful option to enjoy some fine dining at home!
El Borracho – Ballard
Available for In-House Pick-up or Delivery on GrubHub
Kittie Davidovich bartended at Lowell’s Restaurant in Pike Place for over 10 years before opening El Borracho’s first location in Pike Place Market in 2012. Two years later, the second El Borracho’s was born in Ballard. With a vision to create a fun and affordable atmosphere for patrons, she has done just that! From scrumptious Mexican dishes (and vegan options available), to to-go cocktails (yes, to-go cocktails), there’s something to satisfy every craving.
Betty Restaurant and Bar – Queen Anne
Available for Pick-up or Outdoor Patio Seating
Co-owned by Angie Nelson, Betty serves up bistro-style delicacies, with an eclectic twist. Located in Queen Anne’s bustling business district, their menu offerings include jumbo prawns, ribeye steak, puttanesca, oven-roasted chicken, and so much more. Don’t get us started on the cocktails, *chef’s kiss* quite delicious!
FogRose – Bellevue
Available for Custom Orders Only
FogRose is a one-of-a-kind dessert bar. As the first dessert forward restaurant and bar in Bellevue, their specialties include liquid nitrogen ice cream, unique bakery items, and craft cocktails. For right now, they are only offering custom bakery orders due to COVID-19: cakes, cupcakes, macarons, and gift boxes. Check out their site for all your special event needs!
Heritage Restaurant and Bar – Woodinville
Available for Pick-up or Limited Indoor Seating
Chef Breanne Beike settled in Woodinville in 2016, and opened Heritage Restaurant and Bar shortly after. The eatery offers a smattering of award-winning wines and modern American fare, all with one thought in mind: community. This local treasure has been dubbed a “not to be missed” location in your wine tourism activities.
